BLASCO Executive Centre, with a proven reputation in performances of prestigious events, has truly evolved to be a GOA Landmark for Special Occasions - and today, continues to be enjoyed by thousands of people.
In 1994, 15 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens in Navelim, Goa became the home of BLASCO Executive Centre - a centre for Business and special occasions. This is the continuation of an innovative process that began in the year 1875. It is the story of people dedicated to building a great Horticulture Estate, with noble ideas – helping people to live a higher standard of quality living.
We begin almost 125 years ago with General Natividad Barreto (born in Navelim, Goa), who served his career in Mozambique (Africa) and Portugal. Upon his return to Goa, he established Barreto Estate by investing in lands and accommodating large numbers of settlers for the purpose of land cultivation.
One of the prominent heirs, Mr. C.
M. Barreto, served in the British Navy during World War II, and thereafter in the Merchant shipping lines. Upon his return to his homeland Goa, he firmly established himself as one of the acclaimed Landlords of that region by carrying out the expansion of this Estate with huge investments. |
The succession is now passed down to Blasco, also born in Navelim,
Goa, a 3rd Generation scion of this family. Blasco is a graduate of Goan
University and postgraduate from Michigan University (US). He is presently a career Management Consultant on Nuclear Power Projects in North America. With his management style implemented at the Centre, our Goan people are indeed enjoying the fascination of World Class Performances held at BLASCO
Executive Centre. The Operation of BLASCO Executive Centre is managed by Amelia Barreto, daughter in-law to this family, and daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Cosme Rodrigues (Velsão, Goa). Amelia inherited a strong business background from her parents; owners of "NAPERI
Agency" (Malawi, Africa) for 30 years - a trading outlet to supply consumable
goods to different parts of Africa including south-eastern African Railways.
Amelia Barreto holds extensive academic
accomplishments.
The path forward is to build on the 125 years of progress by evoking the values and the legacy of the Barreto family. In fact, the transition to 4th Generation offspring (Blanche, Linsey, and Dixon Barreto) has already begun! This Web Site celebrates the turning point in the long recorded history – the vision of truly Goan pioneers and their successors for bringing good things in life to the people of GOA.
